Mechanic VC04 Short Killer

Another great tool by Mechanic. This Blue box is a battery operated power supply shortkiller that is used to inject voltage in order to detect and find short circuit. Unlike a bench power supply that goes into protection mode when short is detected and stops supplying voltage, the mechanic short detector also known as Short killer injects voltage desired and up to 25A current draw without going into protection mode or causing damage to power supply. You can choose from 4 voltage outputs (1.2v, 1.8v, 3v, 3.8v). By injecting voltage to a circuit you can quickly tell which component gets hot and where the short is coming from. The mechanic short detector is battery operated and can last 7 days days on a single charge depending on usage. Fully portable and no need to have it plugged in when in use.
